Trading Commission Giancarlo announced that the CFTC's General
Counsel, Jonathan L. Marcus, is leaving the agency. Mr. Marcus
joined the agency in 2011 as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation,
and was promoted to General Counsel in 2013. Robert A. Schwartz,
currently the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and
Adjudication, will become the Acting General Counsel.
On January 27, 2017, Acting Chairman Giancarlo announced several
additional staff changes at the Commission:
Amir Zaidi has been appointed to lead the Division of Market
Oversight.
Vincent McGonagle has been named as the Acting Director for the
Division of Enforcement.
Jeffrey Bandman will step down from his role as Acting Director
of the Division of Clearing and Risk to become an advisor on issues
related to Financial Technology (FinTech). John Lawton, a 36-year
employee of the Commission, has taken over as Acting Director of
the Division of Clearing and Risk.
