On July 3, 2018, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018
(Commencement and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2018 were
made. These Regulations are the first statutory instrument to be
made under the EU (Withdrawal) Act 2018, which was made on June 26,
2018. The Regulations bring into force some of the provisions of
the Act. The Act, which was also formerly referred to as the Great
Repeal Bill, ensures that the U.K.'s laws will continue to
operate from the day the U.K. exits the EU.
