This developing story continues as Apple have decided to terminate Epic's App Store developer account, following the on-going legal altercation about fees and rules. As a result of such, Epic have been banned from submitting new apps, and users will be unable to update Fortnite or conduct payments through the App Store.

Earlier last week, a court order rejected Epic's motion asking that Apple reinstate Fortnite on the App Store. As stated in our previous article, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers protected those developer accounts which use Unreal Engine but failed to give protection to Fortnite itself. Apple have commented saying that they are complying with this order and will not enforce any measures being taken on Epic on other secondary accounts using Unreal Engine.

According to a statement issued by Epic, Apple are demanding that "Epic revert Fortnite to exclusively use Apple payments". Epic have made it clear that they will not "collude with Apple to maintain their monopoly over in-app payments on iOS".
