Publication of the amendments to the Regulations of the Long-term and Short-term Insurance Act and the replacement Policyholder Protection Rules
Yesterday, the Minister of Finance signed the amendments to the Regulations promulgated under the Long-term Insurance Act, 52 of 1998 and the Short-term Insurance Act, 53 of 1998 ("Regulations"). These can be accessed here and here, respectively.
Today, Caroline Da Silva, in the capacity as deputy registrar of Long-term and Short-term Insurance, published the replacement Policyholder Protection Rules made under the Long-term Insurance Act, 52 of 1998 and the Short-term Insurance Act, 53 of 1998 ("Replacement PPRs"). These can be accessed here and here, respectively.
The Replacement PPRs will take effect on 1 January 2018.
The Regulations, subject to certain transitional provisions, will take effect on 1 January 2018.
