David Barr joined the firm Monday as co-chair of the Patent Litigation Group and partner in the Intellectual Property practice. His practice focuses on complex patent litigation involving therapeutic drug products, diagnostics and medical devices, and his experience includes serving as lead trial counsel for Novartis, Sanofi, Regeneron and other leading biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in patent matters, including generic challenges to branded companies in Hatch-Waxman litigation, disputes between innovator companies relating to biologic drug products and biosimilar challenges to innovator biologic products.
"I'm looking forward to working with co-chair Tim Gilman to build the practice group and strategically hire additional attorneys at varying levels. The two pillars of patent work are tech and life science, and our goal is to do both and have attorneys who can work across both disciplines," David said of the move.
