Courtney brings significant experience in the energy and sustainability space to our multidisciplinary DC lobbying team. Leveraging more than 20 years as a policy professional, she successfully develops and implements sophisticated solutions that advance her clients' goals.

Courtney's characteristic can-do drive and instinct for persuasive advocacy make her a fierce champion for clients ranging from nonprofits to large, multinational corporations. Over the course of her career, she has drafted legislation, worked to enforce regulations, and litigated complex legal matters — honing her exceptional strengths as a strategist while acquiring unparalleled insight.

Prior to joining ML Strategies, Courtney was a partner with a DC public policy firm, where she helped clients in the energy and sustainability sector respond to federal and state challenges. Earlier, as Policy Director of the Ecosystems Program at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), Courtney worked to advance the organization's environmental and economic goals and was credited as the lead lobbyist on the RESTORE Act. Introduced to bolster ecosystem resilience, the bill passed with bipartisan support.

After launching her career as a litigation associate at a global law firm, Courtney served as an attorney with the Department of Interior and the Department of Justice, where she litigated matters pertaining to energy and natural resources. She earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University and a BA from the University of Virginia.
