Bill joins Mintz in Boston, where he represents clients in environmental, land use, and real estate matters. He has extensive experience litigating cases in state and federal courts, handing transactions, and managing regulatory issues for corporations, developers, manufacturers, private equity firms, lenders, and individuals.
Bill counsels clients in matters involving the acquisition and disposition of real property and operating businesses, the cleanup of contaminated properties, regulatory compliance, enforcement defense, permitting and zoning requirements, wetlands issues, litigation, and environmental insurance. He has resolved numerous matters involving releases of oil and hazardous materials, including PFAS.
On the transactional side, Bill represents buyers, sellers, and lenders in the purchase, sale, and financing of operating businesses, real property, and industrial facilities. He frequently negotiates and structures business transactions, drafts contracts, and negotiates environmental insurance policies, and he has led environmental due diligence efforts in many national and multinational M&A transactions.
Bill is also an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law. He is recognized in Best Lawyers for environmental law and led a prominent law firm's land use and development team before joining Mintz.
Bill earned his JD from Villanova University, an MS in Environmental Studies, with highest honors, from Baylor University, and a BA, cum laude, from Merrimack College.
