Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew Van Noord has joined the Firm's Dallas office as a partner.
"Andy is an impressive attorney with extensive experience
on complex private equity real estate fund formations and
transactions," said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of
Kirkland's Global Management Executive Committee. "He is
the first real estate capital markets attorney to join the Dallas
office, and will make an immediate impact for current and future
clients in the broader Texas market."
Mr. Van Noord represents clients in complex real estate
transactions, focusing on private funds, club vehicles, joint
ventures, and portfolio and M&A transactions involving real
estate and real estate-related businesses.
"I'm thrilled that Andy has decided to join us, especially
as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the opening of our
Dallas office," said Andrew Calder, a partner in
Kirkland's Houston office and a member of the Firm's Global
Management Executive Committee. "Andy is well-regarded in the
Texas legal community, and real estate is an important practice in
the Dallas market in particular."
Mr. Van Noord joins the Firm from Jones Day, where he was a partner
in the Dallas office. He holds a law degree from the University of
Texas at Austin School of Law, and a bachelor's degree from
Calvin College. Texas Super Lawyers recognized him as a
"Rising Star" from 2016 to 2019. He will be joined by
associate Conrad Steele, also from Jones Day.
Kirkland's Dallas office has grown to approximately 45 lawyers
and will be expanding its office from its current space at 901 Main
Street in Dallas. In 2021, the Firm will relocate to the top three
floors and receive top-building signage at Weir's Plaza in
Dallas, a mixed-use retail and office development in
Knox-Henderson. Weir's Plaza broke ground on July
15.
