Dallas, Texas, June 14, 2001 - Thirteen Hughes & Luce lawyers were recently named as "Best Lawyers" in local, national and worldwide independent publications. The 160-lawyer, Texas-based firm has offices in Austin, Dallas and San Francisco.

As announced in the May 2001 issue of D Magazine, seven Hughes & Luce lawyers were named by the Dallas legal community as outstanding in their areas of practice. This list of the "Best Lawyers in Dallas" includes: Bob Davis (white collar defense), Kathy Henkel (trusts & estates), Vester Hughes (tax), Bill McCormack (corporate finance/mergers & acquisitions), Bob Mow (business litigation), Mark Shank (labor and employment) and Ike Shupe (commercial real estate). These lawyers were nominated by their peers in the Dallas legal community and endorsed by a panel of Dallas’ leading lawyers. Only one other larger Dallas law firm had more honorees.

Five Hughes & Luce lawyers are also named in the current edition of "Best Lawyers In America," a semi-annual listing of lawyers chosen by their peers as the best in their field. The Hughes & Luce lawyers named include Gary Null (banking), Bob Mow (legal malpractice), Vester Hughes and David Sinak (tax) and Kathy Henkel (trusts & estates).

In addition, Hughes & Luce and Bill McCormack are listed in the 2001 edition of "The World’s Leading Lawyers" which is compiled from extensive market research. Hughes & Luce is recommended for Corporate/M&A and only 113 lawyers are listed for this area in the United States.
