Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Prince Altee Thomas will receive the Albert S. Dandridge III Diversity Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association's Business Law Section at a special ceremony on January 31, 2017.

This coveted award recognizes extraordinarily committed individuals who have made a substantial contribution to diversity in the legal profession.

Thomas is known among colleagues and peers for his dedication to full and equal participation and inclusion. Throughout his career, he has promoted the concept of mentoring and provided service to organizations that work on diversity issues in law firms, law schools and the larger community.

Thomas is co-chair of Fox's Diversity Committee, which spearheads initiatives to promote firmwide diversity and inclusiveness. The committee is comprised of attorneys and other professionals throughout the firm's 22 offices and works to ensure that the firm is cultivating a diverse workplace that continually promotes opportunities for all. As co-chair, Thomas worked to pave the way for the creation of the firm's LGBTQ & Allies subcommittee and serves as one of the masterminds behind the firm's in-house diversity newsletter, Diversity Matters.

Among his many activities in the community, Thomas is a board member of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group and a past treasurer and former executive board member of the Barristers Association of Philadelphia. He previously chaired the Minority Outreach Committee of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania's Bankruptcy Conference, was past chair of the Minority Bar Committee (MBC) of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is the current co-chair of the MBC Community Outreach Subcommittee.

A known leader in the legal profession and in the community, Thomas was recently honored with The Legal Intelligencer's Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes Pennsylvania legal luminaries for their work in shaping the law and having a distinct impact on the legal profession in the state. He also received the 2015 J. Austin Norris Award from the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia, Inc. in recognition of his career-long efforts to improve the position of African Americans in the Philadelphia legal community.

An established bankruptcy attorney, Thomas has developed both a transactional and litigation practice. His dual experience in these areas allows him to effectively counsel clients on the full scope of their financial issues.
