Amsterdam, September 11, 2026 – Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is celebrating 25 years in the Netherlands marking a significant milestone for the Amsterdam office in a landmark year for the firm following its recent combination.
Since opening in 2001, the Amsterdam office has established itself as a prominent legal adviser to leading Dutch, European, and international businesses, financial institutions, and investors, supporting clients on some of their most significant transactions, disputes, regulatory developments, and strategic matters shaping the market. Today, the office is recognized for its strong cross-border capabilities and deep sector expertise, working closely across the firm's global platform to help clients navigate increasingly complex business and legal challenges.
To mark the occasion, the firm hosted clients, alumni, and colleagues at Amsterdam's iconic Amstel Hotel on 10 September. Hogan Lovells Cadwalader CEO Miguel Zaldivar also sounded the opening gong at Euronext Amsterdam, recognizing the firm's long-standing commitment to the Dutch market and its role in supporting businesses operating across Europe's capital markets and financial centres.
Victor de Vlaam, Managing Partner of the Amsterdam office, said:
"Celebrating 25 years in Amsterdam is first and foremost a celebration of our clients, our people, and the close client relationships we have built over the past quarter century. Amsterdam is one of Europe's most internationally connected business centers and one of the leading financial and regulatory centres in Europe and it has developed into one of the leading places for dispute resolution in Europe.
"Our strategic growth in Amsterdam has reflected that evolution. We have built a strong practice in Amsterdam, advising both Dutch and international clients on complex cross-border transactions and disputes. At the same time, we have invested significant efforts in building local relationships that have been fundamental to our success. Twenty-five years is an important milestone, and our focus is firmly on looking ahead to how we best can serve the interests of our clients."
Miguel Zaldivar, CEO of Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, said:
"Twenty-five years in Amsterdam is a significant achievement, and I want to congratulate the entire team on what they have built. Amsterdam has always been a city with a deeply international outlook, shaped by trade and connections around the world. Today, it is a major Life Sciences market, a center for private capital and finance, and a hub for Technology, Energy, and other critically important sectors to global business. Amsterdam continues to drive and fuel our growth across Benelux."
"Our recent combination has also made our Benelux offering considerably stronger. In Brussels, we have a leading regulatory and public policy practice, closely connected to the EU institutions and our strong international and transactional practice in Amsterdam. And in Luxembourg, our merger has added further depth, particularly in advising financial institutions, asset managers, and investment funds. This is exactly what our combination was designed to achieve: bringing together complementary strengths in the markets and practices that matter most to our clients. Across Benelux, we connect our broader regulatory, finance, and transactional capabilities to compete for the most complex cross-border work, support our clients' growth, and continue strengthening our own platform."
As it enters its next chapter, Hogan Lovells Cadwalader remains committed to investing in its Amsterdam team and capabilities, helping clients capitalise on opportunities in the Netherlands, across the Benelux region, and around the world.
