Faucette and Scheetz will serve a two-year term in DTAG, which
provides recommendations on issues involving U.S. laws, policies,
and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR) (i.e., the regulations controlling the export of
defense articles, services, and related technical data), among
other defense trade matters.
The DTAG, which is the only State Department advisory committee
dedicated to defense trade-related topics, not only advises the
Department on the ITAR and other defense trade regulations but also
helps to reduce unnecessary impediments to legitimate exports to
better support the defense requirements of U.S. allies.
