Akron Partner Meleah Skillern will speak on a panel titled “The Real Deal Panel: Perspectives from Local Female Law Firm Leaders,” hosted by Ladder Down on September 16 at the BakerHostetler office in Cleveland.
Ladder Down is a Cleveland-based organization dedicated to supporting the professional growth of women attorneys in the area. The event will run from 5:30 pm to 7 pm and will feature Ms. Skillern and several other speakers sharing their perspectives on working in the legal industry.
Ms. Skillern is a partner in the Akron office of Lewis Brisbois, where she serves as deputy managing partner. She represents clients in resolving a wide range of business disputes in state and federal courts nationwide, including claims involving fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, business interference, breach of contract, and shareholder and member disputes. Ms. Skillern also provides outside general counsel services to business owners and founders seeking to take their businesses to the next level. She takes a collaborative approach to legal representation, working closely with her clients to understand their business objectives and develop strategic, practical solutions. While she is an experienced litigator who enjoys advocating for her clients in court, she also recognizes the value of resolving disputes outside the courtroom whenever possible.
