Lewis Brisbois welcomes a seasoned medical malpractice litigation team to its Los Angeles office, bringing decades of combined experience in defending healthcare providers and institutions.

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Arthur Zitsow, Scott Hendler, Elizabeth Kaiser, and Joshua Moon to its Los Angeles office as members of the firm's Medical Malpractice practice. Messrs. Zitsow and Hendler have joined Lewis Brisbois as partners, and Ms. Kaiser and Mr. Moon have joined as associates. The team previously practiced with La Follette, Johnson, DeHaas, Fesler & Ames. 

In discussing his decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Zitsow explained, "We are excited to be part of Lewis Brisbois. As I move to the next phase of my career, I wanted to join a firm with a national presence to best represent clients using a team forward approach and face the emerging challenges in the medical malpractice field. My previous interactions with Lewis Brisbois as a co-defendant drew me to the firm and I have found that the technological and personal support it offers will allow me to reach those goals. I also feel fortunate to be able to continue to work with our team as we begin this new chapter. I look forward to the future."

Co-Managing Partner of Lewis Brisbois' Los Angeles office and Chair of its Healthcare, Medical Malpractice, and Long-Term Care practices Kathleen Walker stated, "We are thrilled that Arthur, Scott, Elizabeth, and Josh have joined us in Los Angeles. For 25 years, Mr. Zitsow has represented hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers in complex litigation. He has a long track record of successfully defending individuals and entities against medical malpractice and general liability claims. Born in Canada, Mr. Zitsow speaks French, Spanish, and English. He earned his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law, his M.B.A. from York University in Toronto, Canada, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Zitsow is admitted to practice in California, Arizona, and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Hendler has more than 15 years of experience defending healthcare providers and institutions in litigation involving claims of medical malpractice, wrongful death, premises liability, and related causes of action. He has secured positive results for his clients in both courtroom and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Hendler earned his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is admitted to practice in state and federal court in California.

Ms. Kaiser handles all stages of medical malpractice and general liability litigation on behalf of healthcare clients in courtroom and arbitration proceedings. While practicing with La Follette Johnson, she created the firm's Business Services Division and assisted small businesses with incorporation and corporate structuring, contractual/licensing matters, and litigation. Ms. Kaiser earned her law degree from LMU Loyola Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver.

Mr. Moon represents physicians, medical groups, and insurers in all phases of healthcare litigation from inception through resolution. As one of the founding leads of La Follette Johnson's Business Services Division, he also has experience in transactional and business advisory matters. Mr. Moon, who is fluent in Korean, earned his law degree from LMU Loyola Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. He is admitted to practice in California.
