NEW YORK, July 13, 2026 – Proskauer advised Acorn Capital Management and its portfolio company Sentry Aerospares (“Sentry”) in connection with Sentry’s acquisition of AirStart Inc., a leading independent stocking distributor of rotable aircraft components with a strong focus on regional platforms and a recognized leader in the Canadian market.
The acquisition strengthens Sentry's position as a leading aviation aftermarket platform by expanding its inventory portfolio, broadening its customer relationships, and enhancing its capabilities within the regional aircraft market. The combination is expected to create significant commercial synergies through cross-selling opportunities, increased inventory availability, and a shared commitment to providing rapid, reliable solutions to customers worldwide.
This is the first significant acquisition by Sentry following Acorn's successful closing in June 2025 of a single-asset continuation fund, which is the majority owner of Sentry. The continuation fund, which Proskauer advised Acorn on, was formed for the purpose of not only providing a liquidity option to existing investors, but also to secure additional capital commitments from new investors to support Sentry’s global growth strategy.
Acorn Capital Management is a middle-market private fund manager focused exclusively on aerospace, defense, space, and intelligence. Sentry Aerospares is an award-winning company specializing in providing rotable spares support to airlines worldwide, headquartered in the UK with existing global hubs in London, the New York metro area, and Dallas.
The Proskauer team was led by partners Lauren Boglivi and Anya Hodes with associates Timothy Kim, Mark Kim, and Benjamin Ruvo (M&A). It also included partners Malcolm Hochenberg and Robert Gaut and associates Ziyu (Jessie) Lin and Emma McDonnell (Tax); senior counsel Katrine Magas (Compensation & Benefits); partner Nathan Lander (Litigation); senior counsel Judith Rubin and associate Anna Chan (TMT); and partner Mary Wilks and associate Calum Paton (Antitrust & Foreign Investment).
