Partner Madeleine Rodriguez has been elected President of the ACLU of Massachusetts Board of Directors, the organization's advocacy and organizing arm dedicated to advancing civil liberties across the Commonwealth.
Rodriguez, co-chair of Foley Hoag's Education Industry Group, previously served as vice president of the board. She counsels colleges and universities on a wide range of matters, including employment issues, research compliance and integrity, and civil rights concerns.
In her new role, Rodriguez will help lead the ACLU of Massachusetts' efforts to protect individual rights and advance policies that strengthen civil liberties throughout the Commonwealth.
"The ACLU is a national leader in protecting the rights and dignity of all people," Rodriguez said. "I am honored to serve with my fellow directors and support the staff, volunteers, and advocates who do this essential work. The defense of civil liberties is not simply an aspiration—it is a responsibility we owe one another and future generations."
