Arnold & Porter recently advised D. E. Shaw Ventures, the D. E. Shaw group's venture capital and growth equity arm, in an investment in Anthropic as part of its $65 billion Series H financing. The funding round, which closed on May 28, values Anthropic at $965 billion post-money.
This follows the firm's recent representation of D. E. Shaw Ventures in its role as a co-lead in Anthropic's $30 billion Series G financing round, as well as in several investments in OpenAI.
The Arnold & Porter team was led by partner Marina Richter and included partner Stephanie Coutu, senior associate Trevor Schmitt, and associate Anna Cardoso. Partners Deborah Curtis and Reuven Graber provided regulatory and tax advice, respectively.
