Sustainability Week: Bringing Our Strategy To Life

Loyens & Loeff's firmwide Sustainability Week brought colleagues together across offices to translate the firm's updated Sustainability Strategy into practical action.
Netherlands

Colleagues across Loyens & Loeff's offices came together for our firmwide Sustainability Week, held from 18 to 22 May, building on the launch of our updated Sustainability Strategy.

The strategy is built around four pillars and reflects our role as advisers, employers and corporate citizens. Sustainability Week focused in particular on our Supporting Civil Society pillar, offering colleagues the opportunity to connect with initiatives and organisations that create societal impact across four core themes: Access to Justice, Climate Awareness, Talent Development, and Arts & Culture.

From strategy to action

Throughout the week, colleagues engaged in a diverse programme of activities, both online and in person. The aim was to translate our sustainability commitments into visible, practical action and to demonstrate how impact can be embedded into our day-to-day work.

Activities ranged from volunteering and community engagement to more reflective and knowledge-based initiatives. Colleagues had the opportunity to support organisations promoting legal protection and human rights, contribute to environmental awareness efforts, engage with programmes supporting young people, and connect with cultural institutions that play a role in fostering open and inclusive societies.

A shared responsibility

Sustainability Week highlighted the collective role we play in contributing to society. By participating in activities across different themes, colleagues gained insight into the breadth of our initiatives and the organisations we collaborate with.

Importantly, the week showed that meaningful impact is often the result of many small actions. It strengthened engagement across the firm and created further momentum to embed sustainability in how we work and the choices we make.
