Emma Gardiner presented at the Ontario Bar Association's Administrative Law Section program, Keeping up with the Case Law, on April 9, 2026. Emma spoke about Afolabi v. Law Society of Ontario, 2025 ONCA 257, a Court of Appeal of Ontario decision addressing cheating on licensing examinations. The case includes helpful analysis on the distinction between a regulator's administrative functions and quasi-judicial functions, and how that distinction can affect procedural fairness rights.
