Results from the October 2025 public engagement “sprint” on the
development of Canada’s renewed AI Strategy have been
published by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
(ISED). ISED released a Summary of Inputs document in early February,
along with reports from its AI Task Force members and consultation submissions received through its
online portal.
During this 40-minute webinar, we considered the consultation
results, the government’s summary documents and consultation
process as a whole, and next steps for Canada’s renewed AI
strategy. Adam Kardash moderated the panel discussion
featuring insights from:
- Jaxson Khan, CEO, Aperture AI; Senior Fellow, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto, and
- Teresa Scassa, Canada Research Chair in Information Law and Policy, University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law
Building on the interactive AccessPrivacy workshop held in October 2025, this conversation focused on the theme of “building safe AI systems and strengthening public trust in AI” – one of the eight streams of inquiry identified in the consultation process.
