With the acquisition of the laundry Wäscherei Alpenland and the industrial laundry Großwäscherei Witteler & Burkhardt, the Lavatio Group is continuing its growth course and further expanding its presence in the DACH region. Oppenhoff provided Lavatio with comprehensive legal advice on the transactions.

Oppenhoff, under the leadership of Dr. Markus Rasner and Moritz Schmitz, has comprehensively advised Lavatio GmbH, a portfolio company of Argos Fund, on the acquisition of Wäscherei Alpenland GmbH and Großwäscherei Witteler & Burkhardt (W&B).

Argos Fund is an independent European private equity group with offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, Luxembourg, Milan and Paris. Argos supports medium-sized companies in their growth. Since its foundation more than 35 years ago, it has supported more than 100 companies. Argos currently manages assets of around EUR 2 billion.

Lavatio, headquartered in Hünfeld (Hesse), offers textile rental and laundry services to more than 2,200 active customers in the hotel, catering, healthcare, and workwear sectors in Germany and Switzerland. The company acts as a one-stop shop for all laundry services – from purchasing, logistics, washing, ironing and drying, to quality control and the return of textiles.

Within a short period of time, the Lavatio Group has successfully completed two strategically important add-on transactions with the acquisition of Wäscherei Alpenland and Großwäscherei Witteler & Burkhardt. With these acquisitions, Lavatio is consistently continuing its growth course, now employing more than 1,000 people and processing around 300 tonnes of laundry per day.

The acquisition is in line with the objectives of Argos' Climate Action, Argos' decarbonisation-focused fund. By optimising logistics and modernising processes, Lavatio is contributing to the achievement of the annual CO₂ reduction target of 7.5%.
