Appleby is acting as Isle of Man counsel to Basalt Infrastructure Partners in connection with the recently announced sale of the Manx Telecom Group.

Basalt Infrastructure Partners originally acquired the Manx Telecom Group – the Isle of Man's leading telecoms operator – in 2019, a transaction on which Appleby also advised. The Group is being acquired by infrastructure fund manager CVC DIF and Jersey Telecom. The deal, which remains subject to certain regulatory approvals, was announced on Friday 24 October.

The Appleby team was led by corporate partner Garry Manley and supported by Darryl JagoSophie Corkish and Ruby Agate. Additional support was provided by Juan Thornley (pensions), Caren Pegg (employment), Tom Brook (finance) and Melissa Wong (real estate). Appleby worked closely with Travers Smith LLP, which acted as lead counsel to Basalt and the Manx Telecom management team.
