October 9, 2025 – New York, NY – The Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance ("GALA") announced today the release of the third edition of its comprehensive three-volume set,Privacy Law: A Global Legal Perspective on Data Protection Relating to Advertising & Marketing.

"We are thrilled to release the third edition of the definitive guide to privacy law as it relates to the advertising industry," said Jeffrey A. Greenbaum, Chairman of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance and Managing Partner of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. "We hope this guide continues to serve as a valuable resource for marketers around the world."

Spanning more than 1,000 pages, the guide offers an in-depth look at how privacy and data protection laws impact advertising and marketing in 79 countries—from Algeria to Zimbabwe—and provides detailed insights into compliance with privacy regulations in the European Union.

Organized by country, each chapter explains how privacy is regulated in that jurisdiction with respect to advertising and marketing, addressing topics such as the collection and storage of personal data, data breaches, and regulatory enforcement. Each chapter also highlights recent developments in the privacy landscape, anticipated changes, and the challenges companies face in maintaining compliance.

The third edition includes significant updates to privacy laws that have evolved since the book's original publication in 2020 and its second edition in 2022. It also adds new chapters covering privacy laws in Algeria, Malta, Morocco, North Macedonia, Rwanda, South Korea, Tunisia, and Uganda.

Daniel Goldberg, Chair of Frankfurt Kurnit's Privacy & Data Security Group, led the preparation of the new edition, together with Stacy Bess, GALA's Executive Director. "Privacy laws are evolving rapidly across the globe, and it's critically important that marketers understand how these laws affect their business—and the risks of noncompliance," said Mr. Goldberg. "The third edition of this guide is an essential resource for marketers everywhere."

Hard copies of the book are available for purchase on Amazon.com, and PDF versions are available free of charge by contacting GALA.
