To Honour and Respect the Affected Families and Communities
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to recognize the history and legacy of residential schools as part of the reconciliation process with indigenous peoples.
While the Province of Ontario has not declared this a provincial holiday, we have nonetheless chosen to recognize the date by closing our offices in honour of the affected families and communities and treating the day as if it were a recognized provincial statutory holiday.
The Ontario Courts will have limited operations, only hearing urgent matters, while all regular operations, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario and counter services, will cease.
