At Drew Eckl & Farnham, our summer associates are more than just future attorneys — they're an integral part of our firm culture. We're especially excited to welcome back Catalina Buchek for her second summer with us. Known for her leadership, energy, and passion for community, Catalina brings both heart and drive to everything she does. We caught up with her for a quick Q&A to learn more about what inspires her, what she's looking forward to this summer, and a few fun facts you won't find on her résumé. Her answers were thoughtful, engaging, and a perfect reflection of why we're so glad to have her on the team.

What's been your favorite part of law school so far?
"Being part of the Hispanic and Latinx community at UGA Law. We are a small group, but a strong one. I've really valued taking on the leadership role of Vice President last year as well as being an actively involved member of HLLSA."
Catalina's leadership and commitment to her community demonstrate not only initiative, but also the kind of inclusivity and advocacy that strengthens the legal profession. We're proud to support rising leaders who value representation and connection.

Why did you choose to spend your summer at DEF?
"I came back because of the people! Last summer, I had the chance to work with and learn from incredible mentors, and I was drawn to the firm's engaging and collaborative culture."
We're honored that Catalina chose to return for another summer. Her appreciation for mentorship and collaboration reflects the very heart of what we strive to offer our summer associates: a place to learn, grow, and belong.

What's one thing you hope to learn or experience this summer?
"I hope to build relationships with more attorneys and gain deeper insight into their practice areas."
This curiosity and eagerness to engage are exactly what makes Catalina such a valuable part of the team. We love seeing associates take initiative to explore and build genuine connections across the firm.

Are you more of a morning person or a night owl when it comes to studying?
"Definitely a morning person!"
A fresh start and a strong cup of coffee — Catalina's early-bird energy is contagious! It's always exciting to have team members who bring a positive, ready-to-go attitude to each day.

What's one fun fact about you that we won't find on your resume?
"I love trying out new sports and can get pretty competitive when I play."
That competitive streak will no doubt serve her well in litigation! Whether it's on the court or in the courtroom, Catalina brings a spirit of focus, adaptability, and fun to every challenge she tackles.

Catalina's dedication to her community, eagerness to grow, and enthusiasm for collaboration embody the values we champion at Drew Eckl & Farnham. We're proud to be a part of her legal journey and can't wait to see the impact she'll continue to make this summer and in the years to come. Stay tuned as we highlight more of the talented individuals shaping the future of our firm!
