WH Partners is pleased to announce that partners Robert Zammit, Quirino Mancini and Joseph F. Borg will be speaking at SBC Summit Malta 2025 – The Future of Play – taking place from 10–12 June at the InterContinental Hotel in St Julian’s.
On Wednesday, 11 June, Robert Zammit will join the IMGL Masterclass: “Compliance, Cost and Complexity,” a high-level discussion on the increasing burden of regulatory compliance in cross-border gaming. The session will explore how KYC/AML obligations are affecting operations, M&A activity, and customer onboarding, and how businesses can respond strategically.
Also on Wednesday, Quirino Mancini will moderate “Italy’s New Gambling Licence Regime,” a panel examining the country’s upcoming licensing overhaul, including the €7 million licence fee, stricter regulatory requirements, and the likely consequences for market access, competition, and growth.
On Thursday, 12 June, Joseph F. Borg will speak in his capacity as Chair of The Malta Chamber’s Virtual Assets Committee during the workshop “Regulatory Horizons: Updates & Insights for Malta’s Crypto Assets Sector.” The session will cover the implementation of MiCA, recent ESMA guidance, and how Malta’s regulatory landscape is evolving in the context of broader EU developments. Later that day, he will also participate in “Crypto Myth-Busting and Trends: How to Invest Wisely and Avoid Common Pitfalls,” offering insights into digital asset investment strategies, common missteps, and key market trends.
