A Manatt team represented CareSource, a nationally recognized, nonprofit managed care organization serving more than two million members across 13 states, in a strategic affiliation with Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA), a nonprofit, mission-driven health care services organization that offers innovative health plans and care delivery programs designed for individuals with the most significant needs. As a result, nearly 50,000 elderly and disabled CCA members and patients will continue receiving complex coordinated care services from CCA and its affiliated providers.
The multidisciplinary Manatt team led by Partner Jerry Tichner (Transaction Lead) and Partner Eric Gold (Regulatory Lead) supported CareSource in its efforts to find a mutually beneficial affiliation strategy in furtherance of CareSource's and CCA's aligned charitable missions. The Manatt team also included Health Partners Edo Banach, Paul Carr-Rollitt, Linda Moroney, Randi Seigel and Megan Thibert-Ind, Antitrust Partner Steve Libowsky, Tax Partner John Heber, Employment Partner Deborah Kelly, Real Estate Partner Timi Hallem, Land Use Partner Fernando Villa, Associates Melanie DeFiore, Michael Herrmann, Brianna Isaacson, Jake Kim, Catherine Kuchel, Noela Malecela, Marisa McGrenera, Chris Rebagliati and Tia Thevenin, as well as Law Clerk Gabriella Allaf.
The affiliation is a major milestone for health care in Massachusetts and serves as a powerful example of Manatt's support of organizations with a broad social impact that provide transformative care.
