Foley Hoag LLP was the recipient, along with pro bono partner
Center for Public Representation (CPR), of the Friend & Leader
Award by the Massachusetts Association of Mental Health (MAMH). The
award highlights those whose work contributes to progress in
awareness, health promotion, prevention and effective treatment of
children and adults affected by mental health challenges throughout
Massachusetts.
In jointly honoring Foley Hoag and CPR, MAMH is recognizing the
power of partnership and youth mental health. Foley Hoag and CPR
litigated a series of cases spanning several decades improving
services for people living with disabilities, including most
recently the Marsters v. Healey case settled earlier this
year.
In the Marsters v. Healey settlement, Foley Hoag with CPR
as co-counsel helped structure an agreement in a class action
lawsuit that expands opportunities for individuals in nursing
facilities to receive the services they need to live in their
communities of choice.
CPR is dedicated to enforcing and expanding the rights of people
with disabilities and others who are in segregated settings. The
MAMH’s mission is to advance mental health and wellbeing by
promoting prevention, early intervention, effective treatment and
research to address social, emotional, and mental health
challenges.
