At a lecture held by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Samson & McGrath Managing Partner spoke on 'Trusts in the Context of Divorce, and the Implications for Trustees', covering such topics as:
- Useful considerations when creating a family trust
- Cayman trusts in domestic divorce proceedings
- Cayman trusts in foreign divorce proceedings (notably in England and Wales)
- Interim orders of a foreign Court relating to a Cayman trust (Mareva injunctions, disclosure requests)
- Final orders of a foreign Court relating to a Cayman trust (variation of the trust, indirect orders requiring payments to be made out of the trust)
The lecture, held on Thursday, October 15th at the Brasserie Conference Facilities, was open to both STEP members and non-members.
