Do you have a passion for improving our community? Perhaps you are part of a non-profit organization with a vision to create positive change. If so, Field Law, a local firm committed to giving back to the community, is offering an incredible opportunity through its Community Fund Program.

For the past decade, Field Law has been a driving force behind countless grassroots initiatives in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. With $760,000 in funding donated in support of 128 innovative projects to date, this Program has become an invaluable resource for those looking to make a meaningful impact.

$75,000 Awaits Local Community Changemakers

Each year, the Field Law Community Fund Program awards $75,000 to deserving individuals and organizations with transformative, pay-it-forward ideas. The positive ripple effect of this Program is felt not only by the recipients but also by the people they serve.

Inspiring Success Stories

Recent beneficiaries of the Program include Kello Inclusive, a disability-focused talent and media company. In 2022, they utilized their funding to enhance training opportunities and photoshoots for their clients.

The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society, also a 2022 recipient, invested their funds in essential medical equipment for their team, furthering their mission to rescue and care for animals in need.

Additionally, the Program recently supported two Indigenous-led nature walks with Api'soomaahka (Running Coyote). These land-based learning experiences had a profound impact on individuals and families in Calgary and Lethbridge, fostering a deeper connection to nature, support for local businesses, and sustainability efforts.

Thanks to the Field Law Community Fund Program, the SkirtsAfire Festival brought the powerful Indigenous woman's story of Ayita to life on their main stage. This production, blending theatre and Indigenous contemporary dance, told a modern-day creation story that resonated deeply with attendees.

One youth engagement worker commented, "The play moved me to the brink of tears. It triggered the intergenerational wisdom and the blood memory we carry as nêhiyaw iskwêwak. I left feeling emotional yet empowered."

Charis Auger, a schoolteacher, added, "This experience was a powerful reminder of the Ancestral knowledge and wisdom I carry within."

All recipients from to 2013 to 2022 are listed on the Field Law Community Fund Program page, and additional stories from funded projects such as The Great Big Crunch NWT, Pet Assist, and the Brenda Strafford Centre Community Room, can be explored on the Program's Impactpage.
