Acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Bukit Jalil Global Acquisition 1 Ltd. (the "Issuer") in relation to its initial public offering of 5,750,000 units (including 750,000 units issued upon exercise in full by the underwriters of the over-allotment option) and its listing on the Nasdaq Capital Market. The Issuer is a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) formed for the purpose of pursuing business combination targets. The offering, which closed on 30 June 2023, raised approximately US$57.5 million. The Maples team comprised partner Juno Huang and legal manager Charmaine Chow. Robinson & Cole LLP acted as US counsel to the Issuer and Sichenzia Ross Ference LLP acted as US counsel to the underwriters.
