WeirFoulds is pleased to announce that Lisa Danay Wallace, a Partner in the Firm's Technology & Intellectual Property Practice Group, has received the Ontario Bar Association's Rising Star Award for the Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law Section.

The award is intended to recognize and celebrate exceptional members of the section who are in the first 10 years of practice for "their achievements, ongoing service and contributions to the IT/IP bar(s)."

Lisa has been a heavily involved member of the OBA's Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law Section throughout her career, having served as the Section's Secretary from 2016-2018, as Chair during the 2018-2019 year, and as a Member-at-Large during the 2021-2022 session. Outside of the OBA, Lisa currently serves as a Board Member of the Canadian Technology Law Association (CAN-TECH), promoting engagement with legal practitioners working in technology-related fields, encouraging transparent discussion among existing leaders, and speaking at panels on topics pertinent to IT law.

Lisa's practice focuses on the areas of information technology and intellectual property law, and she has established herself as a trusted expert in providing strategic, pragmatic, and effective advice to clients along their complicated and novel technology journeys. She has developed a reputation for leveraging innovative and creative strategies to bridge the gap between business and legal requirements. This has earned her a well-deserved recognition by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch as an upcoming leading practitioner in Information Technology Law in the publication's 2022 and 2023 rankings.

Lisa will be honoured by the Ontario Bar Association at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 13th.
