Shearman & Sterling Private Equity partner Sarah McLean and M&A partner Clare O'Brien have been named as Top Women in Dealmaking 2023 by The Deal.

The Deal honors exemplary women in the legal profession. To be eligible for the Top Women in Dealmaking list, lawyers must be partners based in the U.S. and have shown the ability to navigate complex transactions over the past 12 months while maintaining strong client relationships and leading in and out of the boardroom.

Sarah McLean leads the firm's Private Equity group and advises energy-focused private equity funds and management teams on acquisitions and divestitures of assets and companies as well as joint ventures.

Clare O'Brien regularly counsels major U.S. and international clients on public and private mergers and acquisition transactions, including public company restructurings, joint ventures and large public transactions.
