Do you work at senior management level or are you an MLRO or compliance officer within the financial services industry? If so, you should be attending DQ's Global Tax Enforcement Conference, to be held at the Villa Marina in Douglas, now in its third year.
The conference offers delegates from across the financial services industry the opportunity to hear from expert speakers on such topics as OECD, EU and UK initiatives impacting the Isle of Man as well as how best to respond to publicity or whistle blowing around a client's tax affairs.
This conference will provide practical and commercially relevant guidance to financial services businesses dealing with international tax, fraud and criminal investigations involving their clients or related parties. We will provide background on global tax enforcement, as well as guidance on the best practices and strategies to adopt before and after you are contacted by foreign tax or criminal authorities. We aim to help you be ready to meet the challenges posed in this new era of heightened cross-border enforcement.
"We came up with the idea for this event a few years ago because we were keen to provide an environment where we could provide no nonsense practical advice to industry executives that may have concerns about being contacted by tax authorities from their domicile country or countries abroad regarding client matters. The goal of this event is to provide the attendee with an understanding of how governments pursue tax investigations, what best practices he or she can implement on a going forward basis, and the implications of various strategies for handling and meeting the challenges of an investigation. The ultimate purpose is to demystify and arm the attendee with relevant information so that if/when an enforcement proceeding begins; he or she is able to deal with it.
We have here at DQ developed an industry leading regulatory and compliance services team and against the background of an upward curve in global compliance, increasing regulation and tax co-operation, we are keen to ensure that we remain well placed to guide our clients through this increasingly complex minefield. Events such as this Global Tax Conference are an important part of our service offering. "
Reservations for the conference can be made by email to email@example.com. The delegate fee for the conference will be £150 plus VAT (including refreshments, lunch and cocktail reception). Please advise when booking the names of delegates and any dietary requirements. Please note that invoices will be raised to assist with payment.
