Overview

The U.S. Embassy in Mumbai has announced that they will scale back services due to the rise of positive COVID-19 cases in the area. Only essential services will be available to U.S. citizens and limited visa services will be available.

Key Points

  • Applicants will be notified by e-mail if a visa appointment is cancelled by the consulate.
  • Applicants who have not received an email with a cancellation notice should still show up to the appointment at the original time.
  • The consulate is unable to provide updated scheduling for the future and any appointments that were cancelled are unable to be rescheduled at this time.

Looking Ahead

Currently, the consulates in Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad, as well as the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, are not affected by this announcement.
