Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados' São Paulo office has helped Chilean wood products company Arauco buy two timber factories in Brazil from counterpart Masisa for US$103 million.
Masisa relied on Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo and Carey in Santiago.
Portaluppi, Guzman y Bezanilla in Santiago is also thought to have assisted the buyers, but this could not be confirmed prior to publication.
The deal was announced on 7 September. Closing is subject to regulatory and antitrust approval.
Masisa, which is also a Chilean company, will part with its entire Brazilian business on closing. This includes two industrial complexes located in the southern states of Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul.
