The Ontario Ministry of Labour has assumed responsibility from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board for prevention of accidents and promotion of safety in the workplace.

As part of the Ministry of Labour's Safe at Work Ontario strategy, employers must post in Ontario workplaces by October 1, 2012 a poster entitled Health & Safety at Work-Prevention Starts Here.

The poster can be downloaded from the following site: www.labour.gov.on.ca/English/hs/pubs/posterinfo.php or through ServiceOntario Publications.

The poster is available in 17 languages and must be printed in both English and the majority language of the workplace on at least 8.5 X 11 inch paper and posted in a conspicuous place.

The foregoing provides only an overview. Readers are cautioned against making any decisions based on this material alone. Rather, a qualified lawyer should be consulted.
