Tribunal
The Attorney-General has announced 33 new appointments to
the AAT. All have been appointed as part-time members, allowing
them to be called upon by the AAT as needed to ensure the caseload
within the Migration and Refugee Division is appropriately managed

Government delivers new Temporary Sponsored Parent
Visa
The Senate has passed the Migration Amendment (Family
Violence and Other Measures) Bill 2016 which includes provisions to
introduce the new visa that will allow parents to visit their
families in Australia for a continuous period of up to five years.
The new Temporary Sponsored Parent visa will assist families to
reunite while ensuring that taxpayers are not required to cover
additional costs (28 November 2018).
