Xenophon to introduce legislation next month to target
low population and low growth states
Independent Senator for South Australia, Nick Xenophon, will
introduce legislation in Federal Parliament next month to amend the
Migration Act, aimed at boosting business and investor migrants, as
well as international students, into Australia's struggling
states and regions. The plan, informally dubbed the Regional and

Australian Border Force detains 12 in
Bundaberg
Twelve people working illegally in the horticultural industry in
Bundaberg have been detained by officers of the Australian Border
Force. Some of the group were working illegally in breach of their
visa conditions and others had overstayed their visas. They have
