Nick Moffatt, a Partner in Kelowna, believes winning this award is largely a reflection of the office living the firm's values: We Care. We Share. We Invest. We Grow. These core values guide the firm's decision-making and supports their belief that businesses have a responsibility to invest in their communities; a value established by the partnership over 50 years ago. Nicole Kirubi, Senior Manager, agrees, sharing that they "live [their] values every day and [their] clients, community and team recognize the impact [they] make."

Our success is a reflection of our client's success and in order for this to occur, we need to have an engaged community that can fulfill the needs of its citizens.  We believe that we have a significant role to play in that and a responsibility to do so.

Winning awards like the Best of Kelowna is a "good measuring stick" that we're making their community a better place, says Nick. Even through uncertain times, Crowe MacKay continues to prioritize community involvement as a pillar in their business. Over the past two years this includes significant investments to local charities and organizations including a donation of $50,000 to the Kelowna General Hospital; sponsoring and participating in United Way initiatives including the Super Mega Ultimate Techathlon and winter clothing drives; contributing and investing in the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike and the Red Dress Gala; partnering with Launch Financial Education Society to present Dollars and Sense, a free eight-week virtual financial education program; sponsoring #LandmarkLove's Mother's Day event which raises funds for the Kelowna Women's Shelter; and volunteering at Helen's Acres by maintaining crops that are harvested and donated to marginalized individuals in the Okanagan Valley.

Clients are our focus, they are why we do what we do and this goes far beyond "accounting."  Knowing our clients' business, family, goals, and risks allow us to understand their advisory needs.

Crowe MacKay's trusted advisors provide clients with the guidance to make smart decisions that create lasting value for both their business and their employees. They are accountants who are invested in more than just the bottom line, viewing their clients' business like their own; understanding the true value of creating lasting relationships.

The Best of Kelowna is an annual celebration recognizing individuals, families, and businesses, where the community nominates and then votes on those they believe to be the Best of Kelowna.
