We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hugo Smyth as Head of Business Development – UK & Europe – Capital Markets, based out of our London office.
From loan administration and agency to debt restructuring and trustee roles, our Capital Markets business line is one of our fastest growing and Hugo will look to further expand our client base across the UK and Europe.
Hugo reports to Ocorian's Chief Commercial Officer, Simon Behan, who remarked "We are delighted to welcome Hugo to our team. Hugo has worked in the capital markets space for the last 15 years and his commercial experience, expertise and client-focus will be instrumental in driving new business development for Ocorian in our expanding Capital Markets service line."

Hugo joins Ocorian from Deutsche Bank where he spent over five years. Previously he was with BNY Mellon for over eight years, specialising in high yield and debt capital market transactions. Throughout this time, Hugo has been in business development roles covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to Hugo's corporate trust roles, he spent seven years at Bloomberg.
