McLane Middleton attorneys Adam Hamel and Susan Schorr presented a webinar on marijuana in Massachusetts on March 13, 2019.

Session Description

With the Massachusetts recreational marijuana law fully in effect and more and more legal pot shops opening up, questions keep arising for employers and independent schools on how to manage and address this topic in the workplace and on campus. Indeed, it feels more complicated for employers, not less, now that adults are able to legally consume cannabis products when they are off the clock.

Please join our Massachusetts-based attorneys Adam Hamel and Susan Schorr as they discuss pre-employment and reasonable suspicion drug testing, updates to employee and student handbook policies, accommodation for disabled employees and students who use medical marijuana, use of other cannabis products like cannabidiol (CBD), and the intersection between state and federal law on this issue. Adam and Susan will also review proposed legislation that aims to protect employees for off-duty marijuana use.
