Amendments to the Companies Act (Register of Beneficial Owners) Regulations have come into force which introduce, inter alia, the general public's right to access beneficial ownership information which was not previously in the public domain and the right of the Registrar of Companies to carry out on-site inspections at companies' registered offices to establish the current beneficial ownership of a company if he has reasonable cause to believe that submissions made to him in that respect are not accurate or up to date.
