Europe: Securitisation in Luxembourg – A Vibrant Market with a Flexible Toolbox

The Luxembourg legal framework on securitisation is very sophisticated, flexible and recognised by the market. Since the introduction of the Securitisation Law in 2004, Luxembourg has become one of the major hubs in Europe for public and private securitisations. Having taken into account developments with regard to the regulatory framework applicable to securitisation transactions within the EU and practical experiences from the market, it is now envisaged to modernise the Securitisation Law to provide further legal certainty with respect to securitisation transactions structured via Luxembourg. As such, the webinar will cover the following aspects: • Description of the market including statistics • Main elements of the Luxembourg Securitisation Law • Available asset classes • Main elements of the modernisation of the Luxembourg Securitisation Law • Latest developments on tax structuring for Luxembourg securitisation vehicles • Case study • Q&A
