Andrew is one of the firm’s partners and is actively involved in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, licensing of financial services businesses with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and banking and finance transactions. He has a passion for businesses within the TMT and Fintech space, having pioneered the licensing of various fintech and online gaming operators in Malta, and led various corporate acquisitions including the sale of Malta’s largest quad telecoms player, and many significant acquisitions within the online gaming sector.

Andrew currently holds the position of Council Member of the Institute for Financial Services Practitioners.

Alan Cuschieri, is the co-CEO of the Calamatta Cuschieri Finance Group and founder of Moneybase, Malta’s award winning and first digital payments platform. With over 20 years of experience in financial services, Mr. Cuschieri played a key role in growing a boutique investment advisory business to a diversified financial services Group of 6 companies with 200 employees present in 3 countries. Mr. Cuschieri has spearheaded the Group’s Fintech operation since 2005, leading the team that built a next-generation core banking and wealth management system and launched the award-winning online investing platform in 2011. Mr. Cuschieri also led the way for the Group to obtain its Financial Institution and Category 3 Investment Services licences, set up CC Funds Sicav plc and CC Funds Services Ltd, as well as achieve ISO9001 certified customer service.

Mr. Cuschieri holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Financial Services from the University of Bournemouth (UK) where he specialised in Regulation and Compliance, while he also has an International Capital Markets Certification from the London Securities Institute (ICMQ).

Sandro is a highly entrepreneurial senior Executive professional, with over twenty five years of experience in executive leadership positions. Throughout his years of experience as a well-seasoned strategist he has held Executive Board Directorships on numerous companies and in various aspects and roles of top management, specialising in the Fintech space with companies licensed in Europe and the USA amongst others.

This individual always showed to be an innovative and transformative executive, who drives change through the development and integration of disruptive ways of doing business and ground-breakings solutions that optimise pathways to success. Sandro is dynamic, results-oriented and has a proven track record of success from founding, take-overs, scaling and start-ups, to profitable exits and expansions. He strongly believes in creating and growing high impact teams whilst synergising and refining the various departments and functions within the same business model, creating breakout strategies and maximising on deliverables for consumer needs.

He is a creative ‘out of the box’ strategic thinker with strong business expertise. He has an ability to translate business requirements into action and action into success measures. 

Throughout the years, Sandro has amassed a very strong network of diversified businesses worldwide and has managed to interlink many of the past experiences, through the various companies towards new business partnerships across the globe, bridging the gap from one continent to the other.
