President Joseph R. Biden designated Commissioner Allison Herren Lee as Acting Chair of the SEC. Ms. Lee stated her priority will be protecting investors, ensuring market integrity, and continuing her focus on climate and sustainability issues.

Prior to being sworn in as Commissioner in July 2019 (see  previous coverage), Ms. Lee served as Senior Counsel in the SEC Complex Financial Instruments Unit of the Enforcement Division, former Counsel to Ms. Stein and as an Enforcement Counsel to the SEC.
