SEC Chief Economist and Division of Economic and Risk Analysis ("DERA") Director S.P. Kothari will be leaving the agency by the end of January 2021. DERA Deputy Director Chyhe Becker will assume the role of Acting Director upon Mr. Kothari's departure.
Prior to joining the SEC as Chief Economist and DERA Director in March 2019, Mr. Kothari was a professor of accounting and finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
