On Friday, October 31, 2014, the Department of Labor announced that it has extended the period to comment on its proposed "Equal Pay Report" rule. The deadline to comment on the proposed rule was set to expire on November 6, 2014. Government contractors now have until January 5, 2015 to submit their comments on the controversial proposed rule.

As reported on our blog in August, the proposed rule would require federal contractors and subcontractors to provide summary information on total W-2 compensation paid to employees by sex, race, ethnicity, and specified job categories, as well as other relevant data points such as hours worked, and the number of employees. You can read more about the proposed rule here.
