On June 13, the Article 29 WP addressed a letter to the European Securities and Markets
Authority ("ESMA"). The letter provides guidance and
recommendations to ESMA and European national financial supervisory
authorities on how to frame international transfers of personal
data under Article 46 of the GDPR and how to draft legal
instruments for data transfers to countries that have not been
recognized by the European Commission as offering adequate data
protection.
The content of this article is intended to provide a general
guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought
about your specific circumstances.
