It's been almost a month since the TSA published for
consultation its proposed new Regulatory Framework. The Framework
presents significant risks and new opportunities for social housing
providers. It is crucial that your organisation gets to grips with
these as quickly as possible because the clock is already ticking
down towards 1 April 2010, when the new Framework comes into
force.
We have already provided training on the TSA and its new Regulatory
Framework to board members, Officers and staff of over 100 social
housing providers, including to the NHF East and Midlands areas at
the beginning of December.
Our training offerings include:
A Briefing covering the key aspects of the new Regulatory
Framework, the timetable for its implementation and the most
significant issues you need to get to grips with before that
happens; and
A Regulatory Workshop designed to help you put in place an
effective response to the new Regulatory Framework:
- embed tenant involvement & scrutiny at both strategic and operational levels;
- work out how to derive the maximum benefits from the TSA's use of co-regulation;
- identify the most appropriate means for your organisation to assess its governance effectiveness;
- explore innovative ways to make an impact in relation to the new local area co-operation standard; and
- take the ideas you generate from drawing board to implementation.
We now have dates, locations and booking information for the Briefing seminars we will be running over the next couple of months. These are:
- Birmingham (Birmingham Social Housing Partnership members only) - Wednesday 16 December 2009
- Bristol – Wednesday 6 January 2010 from 2 – 4pm at Rombourne Business Centre, Aztec West Business Park
- Manchester - Wednesday 13 January 2010 from2 – 4pm at the Royal Exchange Theatre
If you are interested in coming along to one of these sessions,
please contact Joanne Day by email or by
telephone on 0121 214 3532 to reserve your place. The seminars are
free to our clients and £95 (plus vat) for non-clients.
The new Regulatory Framework is so important and so wide-reaching
that many organisations are booking us to deliver the Briefing and
the Regulatory Workshop to their Boards and Officers in-house,
which we offer at a very competitive fixed fee. This provides a
valuable opportunity to introduce and ground the principles of the
Framework to the key players in your organisation, allowing them to
devise and "take ownership" of your organisation's
response to the new regime.
